2019 Futsal Tournament Rules
Boonville Soccer Academy proudly hosts the first MYSA-sanctioned futsal tournament in Missouri! This tournament is open to competitive boys and girls teams U10-U19 (High School). Space will be limited, register early! Futsal is the only form of indoor soccer endorsed by FIFA. It earned the status of FIFA’s official form of indoor soccer in the 1980s as it was recognized as a scaled-down version of outdoor soccer played indoors. It is a 5 v 5 small-sided game played on a hard surfaced, basketball-sized court with a smaller, heavier low bounce ball. Futsal is played with touchline boundaries and without walls.
The sport is a great skill developer as it demands quick reflexes, fast thinking, and pin-point passing. The small, heavier futsal ball requires players to hone their ball-striking and ball-handling technique. Great soccer superstars such as Pele, Zico, Ronaldo, Messi, Kaka, and Katia grew up playing the game and credit futsal with developing their skills.
Fees: $375.00 per team payable to Boonville Soccer Academy
ALL teams MUST have current member passes of US Youth Soccer or other approved organization of which the team is a member in good standing. Any USYS team from outside Missouri must provide a permission to travel form from their home association.
Check-in location TBD. Teams must check in at least 1 hour prior to their first game. At check-in, the team must provide: player and coach passes, medical release forms, travel permit (if applicable), and guest player form (if applicable). Teams must have also completed the roster online in advance of check-in. Instructions for online rostering will be in the confirmation email when registration is completed. Player passes and medical release forms must be available at each game.
